Description

AVIA Polar Star 100 Divers 300m Japan Quartz movement

Where to begin with this usual piece, or is it???

To me it looks like a SEIKO but with a twist of Citizen, but it's a AVIA

AVIA started out in Switzerland in the 1950's and then influenced with the French in the later years

I'm not sure when this particular model was made, but am guessing early 2000's

It's unusual as it's 300m water resistance

Screw down crown with a shock proof stem (much like those on a Vostok) so it's not broken as it wobbles

Deep chapter ring on a black dial with luminous markers (markers glow but not strong)

Luminous hands with luminous pip on red second hand

60 Click unidirectional bezel with luminous pip (firm clicks without play)

Bezel has a lovely double edge

Japanese Quartz movement with hacking

Quick day date set (French as second language)

Lovely stainless case with drilled lugs

Stainless steel case back

Thick mineral crystal

Movement is fully working and had a new RENATA battery fitted CR2016 (10yr battery life usually)

*I have this on a aftermarket SEIKO strap, but will replace it with an alternative unbranded mark that's very similar

In very nice condition with hardly any any any any marks on the crystal

Please use the photos as part of the condition and description
